River Flow 1010 CFS - Visibility Clear - AM Water Temp 33'F. -Patchy fog before 10am. - Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 48. - West wind 5 to 10 mph. - These are the perfect conditions to break out the spey rods. - Rig up with Scandi or Skagit heads and sink tips to swing big streamers for Rainbows and Browns !! - When the water levels drop a little bit more; nymph the water more carefully with big Stone Fly nymphs or San Juan Worms with an Egg dropper. - At this time of year it's best to get on the river a little later in the morning. - This gives the sun a chance to warm up the river a couple degrees. - The fish will become more active in the slightly warmer water.
When the water levels drop a little bit more; Try nymphing deep with a two fly rig.- On your two fly nymph rig start with Rubber Leg Stone Fly nymph or San Juan Worm and an Egg Pattern as a dropper. - Fishing Streamers is a great way to cover water and to find big fish. - Swing streamers behind exposed boulders and thru all the deeper riffles & pools. - Then go back and nymph right on the bottom over any river section that produced takes on streamers.
