River Flow 423 CFS - Visibility Clear - AM Water Temp 33'F. - Snow likely, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 22. - North wind 6 to 10 mph. - The river is dropping and clear. - These are the perfect conditions to rig with sink tips and swing big streamers for Rainbows and Browns !! - As the water level drops a little bit more; start nymphing the water with big Stone Fly nymphs or San Juan Worms with an Egg dropper. - At this time of year it's best to get on the river a little later in the morning. - This gives the sun a chance to warm up the river a couple degrees. - The fish will become more active in the slightly warmer water.
Try nymphing deep with a two fly rig.- On your two fly nymph rig start with Rubber Leg Stone Fly nymph or San Juan Worm and an Egg Pattern as a dropper. - Fishing Streamers is a great way to cover water and to find big fish. - Swing big streamers behind exposed boulders and thru all the deeper riffles & pools. - Then go back and nymph right on the bottom over any river section that produced takes on streamers.
