River Report
River Flow 166 CFS - Visibility - Clear - Cloudy and drizzly with a high near 69. Southwest wind 3 mph.- AM Water Temp 58' -  AM Air Temp 50' - Daytime High 64' - PM Air Temp Low 55' A perfect fishing Day Cloudydrizzly calm with lots of bugs - the fishing has been off the charts.  There should be bugs on the water all day long - and if they are not rising - put on a big streamer - even I am going fishing today.  I went fishing last night - lots of fish rising- but you need to fish a tandem rig - a small dry fly - with a very small emerger or wetfly as a trailer - the combo was deadly - and took quite a few fish with the trailer as it swung through feeding fish.

Another great day of fishing - lots of fish rising and lots of bugs for them to eat - everyone is coming with great reports- I am very excited for the weekend of fishing - nice and cloudy. - The Housy still has a awesome mix of troutthrough out the TMA. - Morning water temp is 60'. -   Lots of Fish are actively feeding in the film. - BWO Emergers, Soft Hackles, Flying Ants & ISO nymphs are good bets to fish in the film. - With the lower river flows and bright daytime sun light; Nymph the riffles and pocket water. Towards late afternoon when the shadow line touches the river then it's ISO time !! On overcast rainy days, look for BWO's on the river. Flying ants are also making their appearance on the river !!

The river is at 166 CFS - AM Water Temp 60'F. - There is a little rain in the projected forecast; but, the Housy still has a awesome mix of trout through out the TMA.-Try to fish in the early mornings as the lower light conditions will not spook the fish. -  At these river flows you can wade almost anywhere in the TMA !! - With the lower river flows and bright daytime sun light; Nymph the riffles and pocket water. -  Swing soft hackles like; Spiders, Hares Ear or Pheasant Tails.  Fish are actively feeding in the film. - BWO Emergers, Soft Hackles & ISO nymphs are good bets to fish in the film.  Tune-up your fly vest by cleaning out the last year's leaders & tippet spools and replace them with fresh leaders & tippet spools for this year. Reorganize your flies into new boxes. Check your vest to see if you need more floatant, lead shot, strike indicators or tippet rings.  If your fly line is becoming stiff or cracked it's time to change it. You can bring your fly reel into the shop and we can machine wind a new fly line with free backing !!  If your favorite rod has broken guides, tip tops, missing hook keeper or needs new wraps.......Bring it down to the shop for repair.
We like the following patterns: Dry Flies: Flying Ants, BWO's, ISO's, Cahill's - Streamers: John's Lion Bugger, G's Catch'Em All, Circus Peanuts,  Zonkers, Woolly Buggers, Pick Yur' Pocket - Soft Hackles: Spiders, Hares Ear or Pheasant Tails - Nymphs: Golden Stone (8-10) BH Hares Ear (12-16), BH Princes (10-16), BH Pheasant Tails (12-18), Rubber Legs (all colors), 20 Incher's (8-16) & Euro Bead Head Princes.
