Obviously the rain from Saturday has the river up to unfishable flows and muddy, but that doesn't mean we don't have plenty more fishing up here. There are a number of feeder streams and other well stocked trout streams which will be very fishable this week. In those streams you're going to want to fish some streamers and nymphs, but you may see some rising fish later in the afternoon. On these you will see BWO's, caddis, and some small stones. Stop by the shop and we will get you pointed in the right direction. And if you want to fish the Housy later this week, you'll want to have some bright color streamers and chuck these along the banks. The week is calling for warm weather and dry conditions, so the river will be fishable again later in the week.

To step up your fishing game this year, make sure you're enrolled in Matt Supinski's Selectivity course May 20 & 21. This is a two day course which will have you stepping up your game and getting you on more quality fish this year and beyond. Matt truly unlocks the techniques and knowledge you will want to add to your bag. Call the shop to book your spot.

CT DEEP has stocked all of the following areas; The Wall, The Park, Corner Pool, Monument, Sand Hole, Garbage Hole, The Elms, Abutment & Push'em Up. Green caddis should be on the water now so make sure you have plenty of pupae, emergers and dries. If you come to fish the river in the morning, start by fishing streamers. When you get some fish on streamers switch to nymphing as the Hendrickson nymphs will be active in the mornings. Stop in the shop to Stock up on Streamers,  Hendrickson; Nymphs , Emergers, Duns & Spinners. Tune-up your fly vest by cleaning out the old leaders & tippet spools and replacing them with fresh new leaders & tippet spools. Reorganize your flies into new boxes. Check to see how much floatant, lead shot, strike indicators, tippet rings are left over from last year or bring your gear into the shop and we can help you tune it up for the coming season.  If your fly line is becoming stiff or cracked it's time to change it. You can bring your fly reel to the shop and we can machine wind a new fly line with free backing !!  If your favorite rod has broken guides, tip tops, missing hook keeper or needs new wraps.......Bring it down to the shop for repair.

We like the following patterns: Dry; Light & Dark Hendricksons, Hendrickson Emergers, Hendrickson Spinners w/ Egg Sack, Circus Peanuts,  Zonkers, Woolly Buggers, Pick Yur' Pocket,  Hares Ear (12-16), BH Princes (10-16), BH Pheasant Tails (12-18), Rubber Legs (all colors), 20 Incher's (8-16) & Euro Bead Head Princes. Don't forget to try a San Juan or Yellow Stone Mop Fly, too. We recommend a drop rig for maximum effectiveness and use an indicator to make sure you don't miss any takes.
